Since the weekend I have been busy working on my Art Journal.
My Art Journal has been such a great place to express myself and I really wanted to share both my latest pages as well as the process I used to create them ...
This page was created by first creating an inky wash across the background then layering stamped Grunge patterns.
The Fern and branch were painted through a stencil and the border and text was all hand drawn. The last was a Frantic Stamper Mushroom stamp that I coloured and adhered over the leaves. The quote comes from one of my favourite books "Where the Wild Things Are".
My next page is also inspired by this amazing book ...
I began this page by inking the background first with a combination of blues and greens to create the sky then added layers of paint to form the sea and the beach area. This time, everything on my page has been hand drawn and painted.
I began this page by mixing inks across a wet page to create an ombre feel then hand drew the peacock and the text. I then used a mixture of inks, paints and markers to colour these. I had to take a trip into the city to my favourite Premium Arts store just to get the white paint pen - but it was worth it!
The background has been created by writing my thoughts and feelings on the changing of the year from 2012 to 2013.
Last one and my favourite! Once again the background was created by an ink wash but this time it was applied and mixed on a wet surface with a wide mop brush. The girl and in fact all the elements seen on my page have been hand drawn, I started the girl more as a doodle and she just kind of appeared!
The quote is from my favourite TV show of the moment, Game of Thrones.
