After a very busy day, I managed to get some work done in my art room! I created a new page in my art journal that features a photo (taken with my new camera) of my older Blue Russian cat.
This photo has a story all of its own because I took it during a very emotional stage for him. Yoou see, I went outside one morning to see my cat chasing a rat into my yard from my neighbours yard! He chased it right up to a tree in the centre of my front yard and while he stopped to catch his breath the rat ran right up into the tree. The poor devil tried his hardest to jump into the tree BUT between the fct that he's normally dead lazy and can no longer jump AND that I was standing there killing myself with laughter while watching him try ... well, he gave up!! He laid himself out on the ground below the tree watching and waiting for a chance and thats when I took my photo!
The quote on the page comes from a favourite TV show - Red Dwarf - where there is a character who is this future evolution of a cat! The quote reads "you ever see a cat return a stick? You throw a stick then you go get it yourself! If you wanted the stick then why'd you throw it away?" It just seemed a perfect quote concerning cats so I decided to use it!!
Meanwhile, earlier this week I had a card featured over on the Frantic Stamper blog. Thie card was created using one of the Frantic Stamper range of stamps and a cool Watercoloour technique that involves applying ink to an acrylic block, spritzing it with water then stamping it onto a sheet of card. Its a perfect technique for adding colour when using a silhouette stamp!!
Well, I have the end of a tv series to watch ... an amazing BBC series about a murdered teen that kinda feels like a combination of the series "The Killing" and "Twin Peaks", absolutely brilliant!
