I had an awesome day today! The man of the house went out yesterday and came home with a surprise for me - a BBQ that I have been drooling over - lol. Now, I know thats not everyones cup of tea but this thing can be used to cook roasts (which I did tonight for dinner) and make wood oven pizza and breads with. I love it to bits!
On top of my amazing pressie I also got the whole day to myself to play in my art room. I managed to create a few projects for the Frantic Stamper blog and a card that I can share now ...
The background was created completely by accident as a play with layering that I liked and decided to make into a card. I began the whole effect by using Distress paints (Antiqued Bronze and Black soot) on white cardstock.
Once the first paint layer was dried I used more Distress paints (Wild Honey and Fired Brick) and a patterned template to add a pattern detail over the first layer. After this I stamped the Frantic Stamper Grandfathers letter stamp over the surface and inked the edges with Distress Walnut Stain.
For my next layer I stamper the Frantic Stamper Fleur De Lis stamp onto the centre of the card and embossed it with sticky embossing powder then adder black glitter. I then added a thick layer of Distress Rock Candy Crackle paint and left it to dry thoroughly.
Once the crackle was dry and cracked, I rubbed over the surface with a baby wipe and some Distress Picket Fence Stain to get the distressed effect that looks like shattered glass.
Finally I cut the flourish and Eiffel tower using black card and the Frantic Stamper Precision dies and added them to my card to finish it off.
Well, I guess I better get to bed. We have a busy day tomorrow with time out to do something exciting.. back soon with photos to share!
