I've been on holidays from work for a week now, a long jam packed week! We've had family days out, a BBQ party with friends (we made wood oven pizza's in our weber BBQ) and a few shopping trips to add to the delight.
I managed to catch up with a new and very close friend on Saturday. I only met her a year ago but she's been such a wonderful support in my life ... particularly now as my family moves closer to the first year date of my mums sad death.
My eldest daughter has spent most of this week, sadly, at school where she's been working hard at finishing off her year 12 studies. She spends so much time on her studies and has such a wonderful head on her shoulders.
Anyway, thats not really what I came here to share, I wanted to share some work I did today after spending a whole glorious day in my art room making and creating ...
This page was inspired by a butterfly sketch drawn by Joanne Sharp. The whole page was hand-drawn then coloured with watercolours.
The other major project I worked on today was a few more pages for my Smash book ...
Both of these pages were created side my side in my book which is why they are both similar. The pages in my book was a black and white image of dice which I disliked so I covered with white gesso that I applied using a pallette knife. I personally loved the effect if created and definately intend to try this out again!
Lastly, I have a page that was created with photos taken at Easter, earlier this year. The photo features my youngest niece playing in the mud at the riverside ...
We were meant to go back up the river this long weekend but Sarah managed to catch a rather nasty flu so missed out this time!
