I made a couple of pages using the Kaisercraft Bonjour range of papers this week.  Its such a pretty range with butterflies and such ...

This is one of them ... my favourite page.  I feel way too lazy to scan the rest of em so this will be it!!  

Actually I think I should explain.  You see its hot here in Australia right now - damn hot! The ducted air conditioner is struggling to just cool our house down so unless you stay quiet in one place - well then its hot!

But I digressed!  For this page I chose to distress it a bit with paper rolling then added dimensional butterflies using stickers from the same range, I also added small pearl droplets across the page to kind of show some movement of those butterflies!  Works for me!

More Sweet Nothings!

Today is my second to last day of my holidays before going back to work :) It's been a very  busy and enjoyable holidays this year and I guess thats why it went so quickly.  I havent done nearly enough of the things I said I wanted to do before going back which is frustrating me.

So... I went out this morning and bought myself a fan - one of those fancy little things that looks like a big ole stick that rotates to cool down my art room and I intend to spend today and tomorrow getting some of those things on my wishlist done!!

Not only did I buy a fan though BUT I also bought an Apple TV cable so I can watch Tv in my art room while I work and try to finish off the season of The Killing before I go back to work!!

For now though, I have the last of the pages I created using the Sweet Nothings kit I bought from the Kaisercraft range ...

One last share is a quick card I made with some left over products I had and the packaging from a Prima pack ...

So... high ho high ho, its off to work I go!!

kaisercraft Pages

I finally broke the drought in my own home!!  I put away all the card making tempation and did some scrapbooking pages.  

I recently bought a Kaisercraft kit featuring the very beautiful range from the Sweet Nothings line and here is some of what I made with it ...

Feel so sad...

I really feel so sad at the moment.  Ive just come back from dropping me beloved cat at the vet.  He was booked in this morning for a routine desexing and while thats still happening the vet nurse giving you all these worse case scenario's to worry about has not helped me at all!!  I dont want to know about the bad stuff, not unless its a 50/50 chance of happening.

Then to make it worse, they took him away from me while the first nurse was talking so I didnt even get to say goodbye - just in case.  Now I have to wait till 2pm to make sure he's okay - its going to be a lonnnggg day!

Anyway, I still have a page I promised I would share, so here it is ...

well, I guess I need to go keep busy - for another 5 1/2 hours!!  Unfortunately I do have heaps to do after spending yesterday pulling my art room apart to redo.  It looks great now - lots of space and two whole shelving units removed.

Challenge Page

This weekend I've dedicated my time to getting some very much earned rest and some quiet me time.  The kind that I can spend in my art room!!  

After it all, I've come up with a new card for the Frantic Stamper Challenge (I'll share it tomorrow once its up on their blog) and two scrap pages.  The first is currently still drying (or the paint at least) so once again I have to share tomorrow but the second page was created to fullfill a couple of challenges so I'm going to share that one now ...

The first challenge was at the Magnolia Down Under challenge blog and was to create something that used found items.  I used some vintage music paper that was found at a garage sale; the packaging from a Prima Alphabet pack (the main background piece) and some older scrap items that I've had stored for awhile now.

The second challenge is at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog which was to use a christmassy photo as inspiration.  I used the colours from the photo for my pages as well as the Christmas theme to create my page.  I also added some Prima sequined centres to replicate the baubles that werre on the tree in the photo.

Magnolia Down Under - Sketch Challenge

Its been such a long time since I have made a scrapbook page so I decided that since the challenge for this week was to create from a sketch, I would use the sketch to create a scrap page instead of a card.

The two silver tab type squares up the top of my page are actually the clips I've used to hang it up in my art room.

Digi pages

I just finished torturing my dog - with his brush! His fur was so knotty that he really hated being brushed. He was good though, he just sat there and helped when I pulled but didn't try to run away. I guess he's learning that there's no point!!
Anyway, I wanted to share some more of the pages I created with the Jessica Sprague classes. I've been really enjoying refreshing my skills with these classes ...

I have a couple more to finish off but have kind of lost the desire to do them ATM. Instead I've been making cards!!

Magnolia Down Under Challenge : Using Acetate and/or transparency

I'm finally back again and have my next challenge bits and bobs finished. But first a bit of a story... You see my best friend bought me a plane ticket to Melbourne for my birthday (it's not for another month but I know early, to save for the shopping I intend to do lol).
that's why I had to have a bit of a chuckle when I saw the challenge because I'd been planning to make a new set of luggage tags for myself and the use of acetate would be perfect!
Here is the front side of the tag -

I painted the edges with a gold liquid leafing then before it was dry, dusted it with a gold perfect pearls powder. The powder really aged the acetate sheet to add a real age feel to the tag.
Here is the back -





For the back I used a piece of a Prima clearly printable to add the design and flowers and lace as well. The interior section has been colored with 3 different blue shades from the distress inks range.
On the front side I daubed a random space with a pearlescent white paint to form a cloud then then spritzer the whole pice with a silver shimmer spray. On the back side I stamped the brackets that I will be writing my details within.
But... The crafting didn't stop there because I then also made a travel diary to take with me. Here is the front cover -





It's hard to see in the photo but between the white card bubbles there are also clear dimensional ones as well.

I created my diary with pages that vary in length to kind of step out to the full width of the book and then 3 pocket pages in the rear for memorabilia. My hotel booking sheet is already sticking out of one of the pockets in the photo now!

Scrap Pages

Did you notice the badge to the top left of this page?  I won a top 5 spot in the Magnolia Down Under challenge this week and was pretty stoked about it!!  I've been working this afternoon on my next challenge thing!!

Meanwhile, I wanted to share these pages.  They were created quite sometime ago but I've only just got around to scanning them. 

 

I created this one with some papers from the Kaiser range.  I absolutely loved using the tickets along the side and even now, I still love the effect of them!!

 

And finally this one with Emma and Stacey!!  This page is awesome to me since I crreated it with all old stuff that waas clogging up my scrap room and rather than throw it I decided to use it!!

Today I found this awesome iPad app. It's called Dropbox and it involves installing a program on my laptop that enables me to access a free online storage. It only has a 2gb file size but that's fine by me because I can use it to move files and photos between my iPad and my computer. One of the biggest limitations I have found with my iPad has been the connecting it to the computer then using iTunes to download and print but with this app all I have to do is upload then I can actually access the files anywhere from my home computer to a friends or even at work - anywhere where there is Internet access!! I'm loving it already!
I've been using my time lately to try and catch up on some things. Things like sharing pages and things I created awhile ago and never got around to sharing. Like these pages ...

Then the is also these digi pages that I created during some of my Jessica Sprague classes ...

Then finally there is this quote frame that. I created awhile back ...

So that's it. I have more to share but I really need to finish off editing the photos first!
