Dragon Card Tutorial

I made this card quite awhile ago using some of the Kaszazz stamps.  I ablosutely adore the dragon stamp and the background scales as well!!  Here's how I made it ...

 Required –

• 5 inch square Shimmer card

• A5 white card

• Teal and orange toned Shimmer mist

• Aqua Chalk mist

• Silver inkpad

• Red Grosgrain ribbon

• Kaszazz stamps – Dragon and Scales

• Blue and Gold H2O paints

• Red Liquid Pearls

• Stazon Timber Brown inkpad

Instructions –

1. Cut a 4 ¾ inch square from the white card.

2. Spritz a plastic cover with water then spray sections with the teal and the orange shimmer mist. Press white card square down into the mix and lift off. Dab off excess fluid then spritz with the aqua chalk mist. Put aside to dry thoroughly.

3. Stamp the dragon stamp with the Stazon ink onto the remaining white card. Spritz slightly with water then gently tear off the excess along two of the sides. Roll the torn edges then put aside to dry.

4. Ink the scales stamp with silver ink and stamp down onto the card piece created in step 2. Tear off two of the sides slightly to hide that the stamp does not completely cover the surface.

5. Adhere the scales stamped card to the front of the card base with it positioned further to the left.

6. Add two rows of ribbon to the left side with one of these featuring a knot.

7. Colour the dragon in with a paintbrush and the gold and Blue H2O paints then adhere to the centre of the card front.

8. Finally add a red pearl dot to the eye.

Card Class

Tomorrow is the next card class at my home and we will be creating two Christmas cards, both featuring Kaszazz stamps.  Here is the first one -

It has been created with a collage stamp that has been cut up and layered with many different layers as well as enameled with UTEE.  Here is the second -

Card Making Group and more Project Pages

We have another card making time coming up in my home on the 30th of this month.  During this class we will be making and focusing on the following -

• creating a background pattern using a faux marbling technique with shaving cream.

I really with this photo had turned out better than it did!! I sprayed it with Smooch to have that bit extra zing and that made it awful to photograph.  Anyway,

• Masked stamping
• Bubble blowing backgrounds

So for this page I included a photo of my screen as I downloaded all of the V tv series episodes (which was why my internet was over its limit lol), my first winter flower, Jack the cutie and finally Sarahs slippers which we finally bought for her to keep her toesies warm!

Sasha and her royal tush, Em after spending on some new clips for her hair, the new garden seedlings we bought (I still havent planted them though) and Em peeling veggies for our Sunday roast dinner!!
 

Scrappit challenge and new article

First day back at work .... hmmm ... I do so wish I was still on holidays and could get up when I want to and work as late as I want to.  My poor body didnt want to get up this morning, mind you it also struggled with the idea of going to sleep before midnight!!  Anyway, I went, I had a good day - end of story really!

Except, I have some stuff to share ... today's Scrappit Newsletter challenge was to create a page that included a photo bordered with brads.  Not one to have ever really gotten into the whole brad thing, I don't have a lot of them and none that I wanted to use for this challenge (as in they are all blingy and better for cards) so I created my challenge page digitally -

As always, my credits are included in my photo gallery.

Sharesies

I still feel crappy - its not fair getting sick at the beginning of the school hols :(  Anyway, I've been wandering around home feeling sorry for myself in between resting. 

Mind you I've had some good times today too, like when Sarah came to me wanting to make some dolls clothes for her new doll.  I taught her how to cut the material to create an outfit, sew in a line and sew on press studs.  She's quite funny to watch as she makes her tiny Barbie clothes and those who know me best will know and understand why this means so much to me - she really does have a bit of me inside her!

So, onto the sharesies, the first I wanted to share was a card I created for my sister in law who just had a baby -

I really liked how this ended up and only wish you could see the Flower soft I added to the grass detail of the stamped image and the glitter trails I added to the butterflies.

Finally, some more of my Project 365 pages - 

My night out with Deb at her High School reunion (The photo is of one of the cocktaisl we drank), Ems night out at her very first concert (She saw Short Stack with Deb and Stacey), Getting myself organised for the end of term, my new Frantic Stamper parcel arrived and I created a covered button flower with it, Sarah's bunny ears and Sarah again - making another of her experiments!!

Sports day and of course the last day of term one!!

All Sorts to Share

It's just barely 2 days left of this week and I will finally be on school holidays - yipee!!  So far its been a very long week!  Today was my Dad's birthday and amongst all the other stuff happening today I managed to see him.  Here is the card I created for him -

Cute huh?  I started out with the border punch from the Martha Stewart line and then pulled out my Stampin Up stamp (Blew all the dust off them too while I was at it) and used them!  I coloured the image with the same Distress inks that I had used to stamp everything with.  I love this card - it reminds me of all the things I think of as special - like my Spode dinner set that my grandma gave me because I used to spend hours with her sorting and cleaning them.  I loved that special time with her and that I have them now to share that experience hopefully with my grandchildren one day!

I also have a page to share - the old fashioned kind even!!  Frantic Stamper sent me a care package recently with some of the new Basic Grey papers in it and I created this page -

We visited here last school holidays while roaming the country and the girls fell in love with the place.  It was actually a kinda funny visit because Sarah had been running this huge debate with Matt and I over who had a fancy house and who didn't.  We didnt agree with her perception which is why we took her to see this hall and it worked - she stood in its shadow and muttered "Man this is fannccyy, Mum you win".  I had to smile at that one!!

Finally, I have my next in my Project 365 project -

In order I have - my blood pressure monitor which saw me at the doctors last week because my blood pressure went too low to be safe (I ducked out of a hospital trip but apparently only just - I have Matt to thank for that), then my new sketch book and my evening of sketching out articles to write.  Finally, my silly old cat - who trully sleeps anywhere so long as he is noticed!!

Well, thats it for me for tonight - that silly old cat has just pulled over a crate of soft drink bottles we bought for Good Friday lunch and I need to go check up and clean up!!  I guess he's hungry still!
 

New Card Class

I'm having another card group at my house in March.  Um, the 14th.  Same details as the Feb one but these are the cards we will be making -

I need to spend my time this arvo working on school stuff - not happening yet, just not in that kind of mood lol but I best get moving and force myself!!  Before I go though, here's a quick share of my last project 365 page -

Working on my computer, Taking Sarah to dancing practice, My cutie Kitty sleeping on my work bag (I took it as a sign he'd like to come to work with me - I doubt he agree's) and my beautiful flowers that Matt sent me for our 16th Wedding Anniversary (he's a bit bent out of shape over them because I won't bring them home from work but as I see it, I spend far more time at work than home and see more of them there - plus the students get to appreciate them as well, I'm kinda winning that one!!).
 
 Ok, no more procrastinating for me.....

What do you think of this little cutie?  From the moment I saw him I was in love lol!!  He comes from a company called House Mouse and I foudn them completely by accident on boxing day.  Needless to say I orgdered him and a few other stamps from their very cute collection.  They have a tonne of stamps that feature this cute little mouse with or without his pals but always doing something super cute and I personally can't wait for him to arrive hopefully this week so I can colour him!! These are the other stamps that I bought at the same time -
